Baby it's cold outside...

Another snowy day in TN...this time it really did snow! Enough for Luke to go outside and actually have a snow ball fight with his daddy. Lillian and I went out for ...oh about three minutes..and then us girlies had to come get warmed up inside. We have about 3inches of snow and now it's sleeting....yippeee! This week was going to be a busy week and now all my plans keep getting canceled. I had two home visits today that were canceled, my mom was going to come up tonight, now she has to wait for tomorrow, and the shower I'm hosting tomorrow is in "limbo" about whether or not it's going to happen. Geez! Well I just wanted to post some pictures of our snow today :) We're suppose to get even more tomorrow...so I'm sure I'll have more pictures soon!

Stay warm!

Lil's dedication dress

Here are some pictures of Lillian's dedication dress, diaper cover, and shoes. I can't wait to put it all on her. She's going to be beautiful. I will post picures when we have her all dressed up and of her dedication after next weekend :)

New adventures

Lillian will be four months old on the 25th, I can't believe it! She is growing way too fast, already checking out the world. She watches everything Luke does and every once in a while will belly laugh at him, it makes my heart smile to hear her. Today was a new day full of adventures! We have moved to five oz. bottles with her and she still just didn't seem satisfied. So I decided to try spoon feeding her a tablespoon of cereal. I did not think she would like it that much and would probably thrust it out with her tongue but boy was I wrong! She ate the whole tablespoon, kicking and smiling the whole time!

Next adventure was playing in the exersaucer. This toy was Luke's and he loved it. She stayed in there a good five minutes checking things out...although I'm not sure who was more excited about this toy, Luke or Lillian.... :) Lillian probably enjoyed watching Luke play more than she enjoyed looking at the toys.
Pictured is Lillian and Luke playing with the exersaucer, the other one is Luke playing in it at 19 weeks. I thought their profiles looked similar so of course I had to post it :)

We also went shopping today for a dress for Lillian to be dedicated in next Sunday. Man, there is so much out there for girls. The boys sections just look sad after visiting the girls. When I went to Target today to pick up a few things I saw the cutest little blue shirt and black stretch pants for Lillian for next Winter on sale for 3.48 ! A whole outfit for 3.48 !!! So I was thinking I need to check out the boys clothes for Luke...and nothing...absolutely nothing...there was maybe three shirts and they weren't even his size :( So, I bought him a movie instead for five dollars, like he needs another movie, haha!

I'm excited its Friday and am looking forward to the weekend, we'll see what kind of things my little monkeys get into this weekend :)

Sweet Lillian on the move...

Avoiding Laundry

This is becoming a great excuse for me when I want to avoid laundry, Haha!

We had a great weekend. Dee took Luke to his first Monster Truck Jam, which Luke thought was the best thing ever. When we went to church on Sunday he said, " Are we going to ride the elevator and get popcorn? " I was thinking, "What????" but then Dee told me that's what they did when they went to the Truck show, hehe. He makes me laugh!

Saturday night my sister came and wathced the kiddos for me and Dee to have a much needed night out. We went to watch "It's compliated" which was HILARIOUS! I haven't laughed that hard at a movie in a long time. Sunday we went to Church, another great service at World Outreach. After church we went to lunch with Gabby, Harlan, and Logan. We were pretty sure we were going to get kicked out of the Garcia's (Mexcian food...yum) because of our children! I'm still trying to figure out why all the other tables had kids who sat so quietly and colored and my kid was pretty much on top of the table the whole time trying to crash this train he was playing with into Logans :) But regardless it was a lot of fun.

Monday Luke was out of School so we pretty much hung out at the house, Sawyer and Ian got to come play for a bit and he really enjoyed that.

Today I went to "Mostly Mom's" which is a mom's group that meets at our church. It was a great bible study and I enjoyed meeting some other mom's. The leader of the group I was in had has a baby that is exactly one month and one day older than Lillian, a little girl too, so it was nice to have her to chat with while I was there. We were studying Joyce Meyers, "The Confident Woman" it was awesome! So many things we talked about were exactly what I needed to hear.

Well Luke is home from school now so I'm off to see how his day was :)

OKAY, I just went to check on Luke before I posted this and he was in my glider in Lillian's room trying to attach the tubing for my breast pump to him. I said, "um...luke, what are you doing?". He said, "I'm trying to make milk for Lillian"...HAHAHAHAHA, I love my children!

Fuzzy Wuzzy

We've been calling Lillian "Ms. Fuzzy Wuzzy" at home because her hair is coming in more every day and its fuzzier and fuzzier :) It's the cutest thing ! Luke loves to rub it and say " mornin' Lillian, it's your brother." I can't wait to see if it's going to be curly like Luke's. Below is a picture I took of her today with her fuzzy hair, she thinks she's pretty cute...because she is!And next to her is my handsome boy!Luke was 17 weeks old in his pictures and Lillian is 17 weeks old today. God blessed me with some beautiful babies!

Do what you can, let God do what you can not!

"Do what you can, let God do what you can not" Pastor Allen Jackson said this Sunday morning and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Could God had spoken to me through Pastor Allen any clearer? This is exactly to the point what I had been struggling with for the past few months. Doing doing doing and going going going...all to still feel like I didn't and hadn't done enough. There's this voice that's always telling me if I just can't do it all then maybe I'm just not that mom I wanted to be. When I heard those words, it's like God spoke directly to me and said, "Sayward, you are beautifully and wonderfully made and it's time to let me take control of the things you feel like you can't do" Saying "I can't do something" has always made me feel like I was falling short somewhere, not living up to everything I thought I could be. I'm realizing now that having people help gives them the opportunity to do the things they want to do as well. Some times I take away other's blessings and desires because I insist that I can do it all...even though I'm worn down and do it with an ungrateful heart. Hearing those words was the biggest relief, it was like God telling me It's okay to just play with my kids and let the dishes sit in the sink...it's okay the floor has some crumbs on it, rock your baby to sleep...it's okay the house is dusty, read the book you've been wanting to read...it's okay the laundry is piling up...spend some time with your husband. It's amazing the things that "steal" us from our families and how in the big picture how insignificant they can be. I'm pretty sure when I meet God at the gates, he's not going to be asking me how clean my house was or how often I did laundry :)
Thank you God for leading Pastor Allen to saying those words and having me right there to hear them! What an amazing moment it was for me and I pray that I will continue to be reminded of those words over and over again.

Weekend Fun

Luke, Lil, and I went to visit some good friends in Franklin on Friday because we were tired of being stuck in the house for the "snow" days. We left about noon, the roads were pretty good, snow was still slightly falling. We got to Leigh and Dylans and Luke and Dylan were off to "Dylan's room" (which is really just a bonus room but Luke's thinks it's Dylan's room, haha) were they watched movies and made pbj's. Lil, me, Leigh, Ro, and Meghan (Rowan AKA: Ro is Leigh's little girl who is 6 days younger than Lillian) just hung out and talked baby and wedding talk.(Meghan is getting married October 2010..yea!) It was getting close to when it usually gets dark and I noticed the snow had picked up and was actually sticking! So I called Dee and we decided we should probably have a "slumber party "at Leigh's. It was a lot of fun. We ordered pizza from a pizza place that Meghan use to work at called Nashville Pizza company, they have the BEST PIZZA EVER! Dylan and Luke made Dylan's granmother's monkey bread recipe, which Luke thought was the coolest and is still talking about it today. We woke up Saturday morning to a light blanket of snow on the ground and with home made warm monkey bread to eat! (If we only had milk it would've been perfect...haha...just kidding) I said that for Leigh because her sweet husband was willing to drive in the snow to get Milk for breakfast!

After breakfast we drove home to get ready for Logan's big 3rd b'day at the Discovery Center. It was a cute party, Gabby did a great job with the food and Thomas the Train decorations. The kids had so much fun. Luke, my big hearted kid, cried of course about leaving...cried about a good bag... cried that he liked his friends and his friends liked him...he has such a big heart it's hard for him sometimes.

Sunday we went to church, out to lunch, and got to visit with my Dad and Christa for a little bit. It was quite an eventful weekend and lots of fun! I'm ready to get back into the swing of things with school back in this week, maybe I'll quite having all this fun and get some things done this week! Today is a new day for me (eating healthier...yeah! ) I hope I can stick to it, I'm in two weddings this year, I don't have a choice! oh...the joys of adulthood :)

Bath Tub Fun

So...not a whole lot of snow today, not enough to make a snowman like Luke had hoped for. Unless he wanted to make a snowman about the size of a bouncy ball, haha.

So, his Daddy took him to the Jumpers House instead, which he enjoyed just as much. Now we are renting G Force (crazy Hamster movie that Luke thinks is hilarious) and cuddling up on the couch on this cold icy night. No school again tomorrow because of all the ice.

Lillian decided she loves baths today. Seeing her in the baby bath tub reminded me of Luke as a baby. He loved baths too! So I decided to see if I could find a picture of him at her age in the bath tub and compare them. Here is Lillian at 14 weeks old and Luke at 13 weeks old. I have some beautiful children and I thank God everyday for blessing me with them.

Two Little Monkeys

I decided to create this blog after a lot of comments about people wanting to keep up with the kids. I thought it would be a good way for me to post stories about them and to show pictures of them growing!

Luke is awaiting the first snow of 2010 today. Schools were cancelled last night and when we woke up this morning there was nothing! Hopefully the snow is on its way so we won't have a dissapointed little four year old.

Lillian is still fast asleep (mommy's wishing she was too, but it never fails, one is always awake when the other is asleep, haha)

She is growing so fast, she is almost 16 weeks, old, I can't belive it! She had her first "belly laugh" this past weekend :) Luke loved making her laugh.

Hope you guys enjoy the blog and I will try and keep it updated often with pictures and funny stories, there's always something going on with my two little monkeys!
